Back to School

Things at Hofstra University are starting to bubble in anticipation of the start of the Fall Semester.  I'm seeing more people on campus and many more activities.

To celebrate the start of the new academic year, our Hofstra University Special Collections posted this wonderful photo on Twitter.  It is from 1942.  It is so retrofabulous, I had to share.

I have always loved university special collections and Hofstra's is really fantastic.  They were extremely helpful in getting me information and photos I needed for this paper on romanticism and the development of karst science.  and they also put together an amazing exhibit of photos from Superstorm Sandy for our sustainability conference last semester.

Take a look at their site here.  They have great resources on Long Island and a ton of other amazing collection materials.  You can also follow them on Twitter at @HUSpecColl

They are one of my favorite Twitter posters because they send out wonderful images from their collection.
